POSITION OVERVIEW

GOAL

THE JANITOR POSITION IS PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE TO CLEAN THE CHURCH FACILITY (BUILDING). RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE CLEANING OF THE FACILITY PRIOR TO AND AFTER SERVICES AND SETUP OF ROOMS FOR SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES.

REPORTING

THE JANITOR POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE GROUNDS AND FACILITY COORDINATOR.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A CLEAR TESTIMONY OF FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AND A VITAL, GROWING PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.

  • HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY, AS HE OR SHE WILL HAVE ACCESS TO SECURED AREAS OF THE CHURCH.

  • ENERGETIC AND TAKE PRIDE IN KEEPING THE FACILITY CLEAN & PRESENTABLE FOR OUR CONGREGANTS AND GUESTS.

  • PHYSICALLY CAPABLE OF CARRYING OUT THE REQUIRED ACTIVITIES (MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 30 POUNDS).

  • FLEXIBLE IN AVAILABILITY TO ACCOMMODATE THE SCHEDULE OF CHURCH ACTIVITIES.

  • ABLE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND COMMUNICATE WITH STAFF.

  • PROACTIVE IN LOOKING FOR AND RESPONDING TO MESSES AND PROBLEMS IN THE FACILITY.

  • COMPLETE TASKS AS REQUESTED AND REQUIRED BY THE GROUNDS AND FACILITY COORDINATOR.

  • DISCRETION AND CONFIDENTIALITY IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO CHURCH MEMBERS/BUSINESS.

  • COMMITS TO SUPPORTING THE MISSION AND VISION OF FAITH CHAPEL.

  • MUST BE WILLING TO WORK WEEKENDS, EVENINGS, AND HOLIDAYS, AS NEEDED, FOR EVENTS SCHEDULED IN THE CHURCH FACILITY.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION: NO DEGREE IS NECESSARY.

EXPERIENCE: EXPERIENCE IN JANITORIAL WORK IS STRONGLY PREFERRED.

SALARY

  • THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION 9 (APPOX. 15-20 HOURS PER WK).

  • SALARY WILL BE NEGOTIATED DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS. ADJUSTED HOURLY PAY AMOUNT WILL BE CONSIDERED BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

  • ADDITIONAL HOURS REQUIRE APPROVAL BY THE GROUNDS AND FACILITY COORDINATOR

  • ADDITIONAL HOURS FOR WORK BEYOND WEEKLY REQUIREMENT AT THE REQUEST OF STAFF OR ELDERS FOR PROJECT COMPLETION OR UNFORESEEN ISSUES NEEDING IMMEDIATE ATTENTION WILL BE COMPENSATED.

  • TIME SENSITIVE JOBS/PROJECTS THAT REQUIRE ADDITIONAL HOURS SHOULD BE DISCUSSED WITH GROUNDS AND FACILITY COORDINATOR TO DETERMINE APPROPRIATE SCHEDULE AND APPROVE ADDITIONAL HOURS.

  • EDUCATION WING

  • ENTRYWAYS

  • PRAYER ROOM

  • WORK ROOM

  • WINDOWS

  • BAPTISMAL CHANGING ROOMS

  • VACUUM ALL CARPETED AREAS.

  • CLEAN ALL SURFACES (I.E. TABLES, COUNTERTOPS, ETC.).

  • RUN FLOOR CLEANING MACHINE IN ATRIUM AND FOYER.

  • SANCTUARY

  • BATHROOMS

  • CLEANING MAY INCLUDE EMERGENCY SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL NEAR WALKWAYS

  • CLEANING ADDITIONAL AREAS MAY BE REQUIRED AS REQUESTED

  • NOTIFY THE OFFICE MANAGER WHEN PAPER PRODUCTS AND CLEANING SUPPLIES ARE LOW.
